The Carolina Hurricanes pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the first round of the NHL playoffs when they eliminated the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals in seven games. With not much turnaround time, the Canes head to New York tonight to open their second-round series against the Islanders, who pulled off an upset of their own by knocking off the Pittsburgh Penguins. The NY Yankees couldn't pull off the four-game road sweep of the Angels as they fell yesterday in Anaheim, 11-5. The Bronx Bombers will try to bounce back tonight as they continue their road trip in San Francisco against the Giants.
