The NCAA Tournament officially tips off tonight in Dayton with the first two of the First Four games. The opener features Northeast Conference champ Fairleigh Dickinson (20-13; No. 212 in Dunkel's power rankings) against SWAC Conference champ Prairie View (22-12; No. 232). That will be followed by two at-large teams as the Belmont Bruins (26-5; No. 46) face the Temple Owls (23-9; No. 62). A disastrous finish to LeBron James first year in Los Angeles may have hit rock bottom on Sunday against the Knicks when the Lakers blew an 11-point lead in the last 3:45 and James had his potential game-winning shot blocked. While the Lakers (31-39; No. 22 in Dunkel's power rankings) are just playing out the string, their opponent tonight -- the Milwaukee Bucks (52-18; No. 1) --continue to fight for the No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference. Playoff positioning will also be at stake tonight in Carolina where the Hurricanes (39-25-7; No. 12 in Dunkel's power rankings) host the Pittsburgh Penguins (39-24-10; No. 9). The Pens come in third in the Metropolitan Division standings while the Hurricanes are in fourth, three points behind. The two teams have split the first two meetings with each winning on the road.
