Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Washington Football Team Betting Preview
The final game of three Wild Card Round Playoff games on Saturday will feature the Washington Football Team hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Washington enters the playoffs with a 7-9 record, while the Buccaneers are 11-5.
Tampa Bay finished the regular season by winning four straight games, and it will have plenty of momentum. The Buccaneers are loaded with talent, and they have a future Hall of Fame quarterback leading the way.
Washington secured the NFC East title in Week 17, but this has been a trying season for the franchise. The Washington Football Team has persevered throughout, but they will be underdogs at home in this matchup.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 8.5-point favorites over the Washington Football Team.
Brady, Bucs Want to Score
The Buccaneers averaged 30.8 points per game during the regular season, and they featured the second-best passing attack in the league. Quarterback Tom Brady has a ton of postseason experience, and the Bucs will look to win this game on offense.
Brady has thrown for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns this season, and he has a number of terrific weapons on the outside. Running back Ronald Jones II has also rushed for nearly 1,000 yards, and he will give this offense some balance.
The defense in Tampa Bay continues to be overlooked, but this team is allowing just 22 points per game. Washington doesn’t feature a very explosive passing attack, and that should allow Tampa Bay to be aggressive on Saturday night.
Defense Dominating For Washington
Even though Tampa Bay has played well on defense, the best defensive unit in this game belongs to the Washington Football Team. Washington has allowed just 20.6 points per game, and that defensive line will be coming after Brady.
Rookie defensive end Chase Young had 7.5 sacks during the regular season, and Washington had 47 of them as a team. The defense will not only have to shut down the explosive Bucs, but it will also have to set up the offense if it wants to win this game.
The offense in Washington has really struggled, and the quarterback position has been a revolving door. Veteran Alex Smith is expected to start on Saturday night, but that unit will look to take care of the ball and allow the defense to dominate.
Washington Falls Just Short
The Washington Football Team has had a remarkable turnaround, and this team will show plenty of fight on Saturday night. Unfortunately, Washington just doesn’t have enough offense to be able to pull off this massive upset.
The Buccaneers acquired all of this talent for a reason, and this will be the start of what could be a deep playoff run. Tampa Bay can really score, and its offense will be just good enough to get the job done and advance.
Take the 8.5 points and bet on the Washington Football Team, but it will be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that advance.
