San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview

27 July 2021

NL West Division rivals are set to meet up on Tuesday night to kick off a three-game series in San Francisco as the Giants host the Los Angeles Dodgers. This is a matchup of two of the top teams in baseball, and it could be a playoff preview in the National League.

Los Angeles comes into San Francisco with an overall record of 61-40, and the Dodgers have won two straight games. The Dodgers remain in second place in the NL West as they just haven’t been able to catch the Giants.

San Francisco has gone just 3-2 in their last five games, but they are still an impressive 62-37 on the season. The Giants were not expected to be a playoff contender this season but have been able to hold off great teams in that division.

The Dodgers are the betting favorites at -132 for the first game of this series on Tuesday night.

Urias Starts For LA

Julio Urias starts for the Dodgers on Tuesday night, and all he has done is win games this season. Urias has posted a 12-3 record with an ERA of 3.63, and he is one of the few remaining healthy starting pitchers for this team.

The Dodgers have had some issues with their bullpen of late, and that came into play in the previous series against the Giants. Los Angeles will make some additions prior to the Trade Deadline, but it won’t happen before Tuesday night.

Los Angeles continues to be the second-highest scoring team in baseball, and they have plenty of power. Max Muncy leads the way with 22 home runs and 59 RBIs, and Justin Turner sports an impressive .301 batting average.

Giants Have Some Big Bats

The Giants are not as explosive as the Dodgers on offense, but this team has been a top-10 offense in nearly every category this season. Brandon Crawford leads the Giants with 18 home runs and 58 RBIs this season, but he has plenty of help as well.

Pitching has been the biggest story for San Francisco so far this season, and they are top-five in most pitching categories. The Giants have allowed opponents to hit just .220 this season, and they have frustrated the Dodgers on offense.

Logan Webb starts for San Francisco in this game, and he has gone 4-3 with a 3.54 ERA so far in 2021. Webb just needs to keep his team in this game if the Giants are going to pick up a victory.

Giants Stay on Top

The Dodgers seem to have the edge in the pitching matchup on Tuesday night, but the Giants have been able to overcome many obstacles this season. San Francisco has been great at their home park, and they feature an offense that is able to put up runs in a hurry.

Los Angeles has struggled to beat San Francisco so far this season, and things won’t get any easier on the road. The Dodgers will get a solid start from Urias, but it isn’t going to be enough to knock off the Giants on Tuesday night.

San Francisco just continues to stay on top of the NL West, and they will remain there after this game. Bet the San Francisco Giants money line as they pick up an impressive win over their rivals in the series opener.
