Peach Bowl Betting Preview: Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Georgia Bulldogs
This is a big weekend for college football, and there are a number of great games outside of the College Football Playoff. The Peach Bowl is one of those games, and it will feature the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Georgia Bulldogs battling on New Year's Day.
Cincinnati comes into this game with a perfect 9-0 record, and it won the American Athletic Conference this season. The Bearcats believe that they should have been a CFP team, and they have plenty to prove.
The Bulldogs will represent the SEC in the Peach Bowl, and they bring a 7-2 record into this game. Georgia did not reach the SEC Championship Game, and it was a disappointing season for the Bulldogs.
Georgia is a 6.5-point favorite over the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Peach Bowl.
Cincinnati Can Score Quick
Cincinnati is scoring more than 39 points per game this season, and this team can light up the scoreboard in a hurry. The Bearcats are led by quarterback Desmond Ridder, who has thrown for more than 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns.
This team also has plenty of balance on offense, as they are averaging more than 225 rushing yards per game. Ridder can also make plays with his legs, but running back Gerrid Doaks leads the way with 673 rushing yards this season.
The defense of Cincinnati has been underrated this season, but that unit is giving up just 16 points per game. Taking on Georgia will be a huge test for Cincinnati, but there is a reason that this team is undefeated.
Georgia Must Run the Ball
If the Bulldogs are going to pull off this win, they must run the ball well. Georgia is averaging 188 rushing yards per game, and getting consistent quarterback play has been a real issue.
Running back Zamir White leads the team with 740 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, and he will be looking for holes in that Cincinnati defense. Stetson Bennett is expected to be under center, but the Bulldogs need more from that position.
Georgia’s defense has giving up just 20 points per game that season, and they will be coming after Ridder in this game. Look for the Bulldogs to use their speed and size to try and completely shut down the Bearcats offense.
Bearcats Battle Bulldogs
This is a chance for the Cincinnati football program to show how great they are on a big stage, and the Bearcats are going to take advantage. Cincinnati was overlooked all season long, but this team is the real deal.
Georgia has been able to rebound after a rough patch earlier this season, and it is looking to end the season with a win. The Bulldogs just have too much talent for the Bearcats, and they will likely come away with the win.
Don’t expect this game to get out of hand, and taking the points is the right play in this game. Bet on the Cincinnati Bearcats +6.5 to battle the Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl.
