NFC Championship Game Betting Preview
The NFC Championship Game will feature the Green Bay Packers hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Lambeau Field. These two teams met during the regular season, and it was a blowout win for the Buccaneers.
Tampa Bay has gone on the road to win two straight playoff games, and it will look to make it three in a row on Sunday. The Bucs finished in second place in the NFC South but stunned the Saints in New Orleans a week ago.
Green Bay won the NFC North with a 13-3 record and was also the top overall seed in the conference. The Packers had little trouble defeating the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round to advance to this game.
The Green Bay Packers are four-point favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game.
Tampa Bay Must Run
The Buccaneers averaged less than 100 rushing yards per game this season, and that simply won't work in this game. Veteran Leonard Fournette has run the ball well so far in the playoffs, and Tampa Bay needs to extend drives to keep the Packers' offense on the sideline.
Quarterback Tom Brady is the best playoff quarterback of all-time, and he continued to get more comfortable with this offense as the season went along. The Buccaneers are one of the top passing attacks in the league, and they have a ton of weapons.
Tampa Bay's defense had four takeaways in the win over the Saints, and that unit will need to play great again on Sunday. The Buccaneers must slow down Aaron Rodgers if they want a chance to win the game.
Packers Too Explosive
Rodgers threw 48 touchdown passes this season, and he arguably had the best season of his Hall of Fame career. Davante Adams hauled in 18 touchdown receptions, and these two were also able to hook up for a touchdown in the win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Green Bay is able to run the ball with Aaron Jones, and that should allow the Packers passing attack to find some room. The Packers don't leave points on the board, as they are tough to stop in the red zone.
The defense has given up some points this season, but that unit has been dominant of late. If the Packers are able to get pressure on Brady, then they can slow down the Buccaneers.
Green Bay Rolls At Home
Rodgers has never had home-field advantage for a conference championship game in his career, and he is not going to waste this opportunity. The Packers have been the best offensive team in the NFL this season, and the Buccaneers won't be able to slow them down.
Brady is going to play well on Sunday, and that will allow Tampa Bay to keep this game close until the fourth quarter. Ultimately, the Packers will be able to take control of this game as they win the NFC Championship Game and punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.
Bet the Green Bay Packers -4.0 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
