Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies Betting Preview/Player Prop
Colorado won the series opener by a score of 8-5, and the Dodgers won the second game, 11-6. The offense has been leading the way in the first two matchups of the season.
Los Angeles is expected to be a World Series title contender this season, but the upstart Rockies have been playing tough to begin the season. The Los Angeles Dodgers are -239 in this Saturday matchup with the Colorado Rockies.
Buehler Dealing For Dodgers
The Colorado Rockies have to be tired of seeing Cy Young caliber pitchers on the mound for Los Angeles, but that trend will not end Saturday. This time it will be Walker Buehler on the hill, and he is arguably the best pitcher on the Dodgers roster.
Pitching has actually been a bit of an issue for Los Angeles to begin the season, especially giving up home runs. Buehler will look to overpower the Rockies, and he will rack up the strikeouts.
Corey Seager and Justin Turner have been carrying the Dodgers offense to begin the season. This Los Angeles lineup is deep, and any number of players can have a big day at the plate.
Rockies Offense Stepping Up
Colorado is going to have to win games with it's offense, and that part of the game has been working well for Colorado. The Rockies hit four home runs in one inning on Saturday to show off just how powerful this team can be.
Charlie Blackmon hit one of those home runs, and he is one of the best hitters in baseball. The loss of Nolan Arenado left a big hole in this offense, but it has not stopped the Rockies through two games.
Jon Gray makes the start for the Rockies on Saturday, and he will be an important piece for this team in 2021. Gray had an ERA close to 7 a season ago, and the Rockies are desperately looking for some starting pitching to begin the season.
Dodgers Defeat Rockies Again
These teams have both been hitting the ball well to begin the season, and that trend will likely continue for at least one team. Los Angeles has a team good enough to be the best offensive team in baseball, and they are going to continue to score runs on Saturday.
The Rockies have been swinging it well to begin the season, but that offense is facing one of the best pitchers in baseball on Saturday. Look for Walker Buehler to completely shut down the Colorado offense, and that will allow the Dodgers to take control.
Colorado has played well to begin the season, but they will not be able to keep up on Saturday. Bet the Los Angeles Dodgers -239 over the Colorado Rockies in the third straight matchup between these teams.
Player To Hit A Home Run: Corey Seager (+275)
It doesn’t look like Seager has cooled off much from his NLCS and WS MVP performances last year. In his first two games against Colorado, the Dodgers SS is hitting .625 (5-for-8) with 6 total bases.
No surprise that he is enjoying Colorado pitching either. Last year, Seager hit .385 (15-for-39) against the Rockies, including 4 HRs, which were the most against any team during the regular season.
Seager has also fared well against today’s expected starter, Jon Gray, with a career average of .333 (7-for-21) and 1 HR.
The Dodgers are still looking for their first HR of the season after missing one on opening day because of a baserunning error by Justin Turner. We’ll look for Seager (+275) to correct that today and continue his hot hitting with an HR for the Dodgers at Coors Field.
