Los Angeles Angels at Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

15 September 2021

The Chicago White Sox continue inching towards a playoff berth in the American League, and they will have another chance on Wednesday night. Chicago hosts the Los Angeles Angels at Guaranteed Rate Field once again after picking up a 9-3 win on Wednesday night.

Los Angeles comes into this game with a record of 70-74, and it is another lost season for Joe Maddon’s squad. The Angels do have plenty of talent on this roster, but they just haven’t been able to put it all together.

Chicago is 83-61 on the season, and they have built up a massive lead in the American League Central. The White Sox are still looking to improve playoff positioning as they hope to make a deep postseason run in 2021.

The Los Angeles Angels are the slight betting favorites on the moneyline for this matchup on Wednesday night.

Angels Not Scoring Runs

The Los Angeles Angels have been a solid offensive team for much of the season, but that hasn’t been the case over the last ten days. Los Angeles is relying on the home run ball too much, and the team batting average has slipped down to .246 on the season.

Shohei Ohtani has not slowed down at the plate, and he leads the Angels with 44 home runs and 94 RBIs. Los Angeles would be a much better offensive team with Mike Trout in the lineup, but injuries have really hurt this club.

Janson Junk will be on the mound Wednesday night, and he has pitched well for the Angels in limited action this season. Junk is 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA up to this point, but he will be facing a great lineup in this game.

Chicago Looking For Consistency

The White Sox have been coasting over the last two months, and they are a team looking for more consistency in the final few weeks of the season. Chicago put up nine runs on Tuesday night but also struggled to score in the series against the Boston Red Sox.

Jose Abreu continues to lead the way for the White Sox on offense, putting up 29 home runs and 107 RBIs this season. Shortstop Tim Anderson has been dealing with some injury concerns of late, but he leads the team with a .301 batting average.

Dallas Keuchel starts on Wednesday night, and he is just 8-9 with a 5.33 earned run average this season.

White Sox Roll to Another Win

The pressure is on Dallas Keuchel to turn his season around on the mound, and this will be a great chance for him to take a step in the right direction. The Angels just aren’t scoring many runs at this point of the season, and that just won’t work against the Chicago White Sox.

Los Angeles looks like a team that is now simply ready to finish out the regular season, and they won’t put up much of a fight in this one. That White Sox offense is capable of doing big things, and this will be another big night for the offense.

Bet the Chicago White Sox -2.5 as they take control of this game early on and then roll to another big win.
