Kansas Jayhawks at Baylor Bears Betting Preview

Big 12 Conference heavyweights will meet up on Monday night in Waco, Texas, when the Baylor Bears take on the Kansas Jayhawks. Both teams have dreams of reaching the Final Four this season, and this should be a great test.

Kansas comes into this game with a 4-2 record in league play, and it is currently in third place. The Jayhawks (10-3) suffered a 75-70 loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in their most recent game.

Baylor is a perfect 5-0 so far in Big 12 action, and the Bears (12-0) look like a national title contender this season. They have yet to lose a game all season long and are outscoring opponents by more than 26 points per game.

The Baylor Bears are nine-point favorites over Kansas on Monday night. 

Kansas Can’t Find Offense

The Jayhawks have had a hard time finding offense this season, especially since Big 12 Conference play began. Kansas is scoring just 76 points per game, and the Jayhawks don’t have anyone that can really take over a game like in years past.

There are four Kansas players averaging in double figures, led by Ochai Ogbaji at 14.7 points per game. Kansas is shooting better than 36 percent from deep, and it must shoot the ball well to keep this game close.

On defense, the Jayhawks are allowing less than 68 points per game, but they will have their hands full in this game. Depth has been an issue, and Baylor won’t stop attacking. 

Baylor Solid on Both Ends

The Bears are scoring more than 87 points per game this season while holding opponents to less than 62 points per game. This is a very deep team that is loaded with experience, and the Bears can get separation in a hurry.

Guards Jared Butler and MaCio Teague have combined for more than 30 points per game this season, and they lead the Bears on offense. Baylor is shooting better than 42 percent from the three-point line, but it has plenty of interior scoring threats as well.

The real strength of this Baylor team is on the defensive end of the floor, as it just continues to put pressure on opponents. It takes a strong defensive effort to make a deep run in March, and this Baylor team has what it takes to do just that. 

Bears Blow Out Jayhawks

Kansas is not used to looking up at anyone in the Big 12 standings, but that is the case this season. The Jayhawks have just had too much trouble finding offense, and that’s going to be a major problem in this game.

Baylor can really score, but it is arguably the best defensive team in college basketball this season. The Bears are going to make the Jayhawks work for every point, and that will allow them to create some separation in this matchup.

This one should be over early as the Bears will blow out the Jayhawks. Bet the Baylor Bears -9.0 over the Kansas Jayhawks in this Big 12 matchup.
