Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors Betting Preview
Denver has now won four straight games, and that has come after losing one of their most important players. The Nuggets have improved their record to 38-20 on the season and are in fourth place in the West.
Golden State has gone 5-2 in its last seven games, but the Warriors still find themselves in 10th place in the Western Conference. The Warriors could make some noise in the playoffs, but getting into the postseason won’t be easy.
The Denver Nuggets are three-point road favorites over the Golden State Warriors.
Nuggets Need More From Guards
Point guard Jamal Murray has been lost for the season with a torn ACL, and the Nuggets will miss his offensive production. Murray was scoring over 20 points per game before the injury, and the Nuggets will have to find a way to make up for those points on the perimeter.
All-Star center Nikola Jokic just continues to put up huge numbers for this team, and this could be another game that he dominates. The “Joker” is averaging 26.4 points and 8.7 assists per game, and he now has to carry an even bigger load.
Denver is one of the best offensive teams in the league, but they can struggle to score points when they aren’t shooting it well.
Curry Carrying Warriors Offense
The Golden State Warriors are not nearly as explosive as they have been in years past, but this team still has the ability to put up a ton of points. Golden State comes into averaging 113 points per game, but Stephen Curry can make this team impossible to stop.
Curry leads the way with 31.1 points per game, and he just went on a 10-game run not seen before in the NBA. The Warriors do struggle to score when teams are able to shut down the former league MVP, and the rest of the team will need to step up on Friday.
Golden State has also struggled on the defensive end of the floor, and there isn’t a ton of depth on this roster. The Warriors will need a full team effort to pull off this upset at home.
Denver Dominates For Road Win
The loss of Jamal Murray is a huge blow to the Denver Nuggets, but they are still the much better overall team in this game. Denver is going to throw extra defenders at Stephen Curry, and the Warriors are going to struggle to score points.
Golden State needs at least 40 points from Curry to keep this game close, but at some point, the rest of the team has to step up. Playing at home gives the Warriors a slight advantage, but they just won’t be able to keep up with the Nuggets in this game.
Look for the Nuggets to head into California and pick up another impressive win. Bet the Denver Nuggets -3.0 over the Golden State Warriors.
