Chicago Bulls at Phoenix Suns Betting Preview/Player Prop

NBA Previews

In late-night NBA action on Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns will host the Chicago Bulls. These are two of the youngest teams in the league, and these two teams could eventually both make runs to an NBA Championship in the coming seasons.

Chicago has lost four straight games entering play on Wednesday night, and they are starting to fall out of the playoff race. The Bulls have seen their record slip to just 19-26, and they are in real danger of missing the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Phoenix has been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the beginning of February, and nothing seems to slow them down. The Suns bring a 32-14 record into this game, and that currently has them on top of the Pacific Division in the West.

The Suns are seven-point favorites Wednesday night. Tipoff is at 10:00 P.M. Eastern.

Bulls Can’t Get Stops

If the Chicago Bulls are going to snap this losing streak, then it has to begin on the defensive end of the floor. Chicago is allowing nearly 114 points per game, and that’s not good enough to win on a nightly basis in this league.

Adding Nikola Vucevic to the team at the Trade Deadline should give the Bulls a boost, but there will also be some growing pains. Chicago is scoring nearly 113 points per game, and they are usually able to find enough offense each night.

Zach LaVine (27.5 points per game) is one of the top players in the NBA, and he can take over at any time. Don’t be surprised to see the Bulls try to shoot their way to a win from deep on Wednesday night.

Rising Phoenix

The Phoenix Suns franchise has been building in recent years, but they are officially in the contending stage at this time. The Western Conference is loaded with some great teams, but the Suns have enough talent to compete.

Phoenix is scoring 113.5 points per game while holding opponents to just 107.4 points per night. The Suns have been winning close games of late, but they also can completely take over a game.

Devin Booker leads the team with 25 points per game, but veteran Chris Paul might be the MVP of this team. Besides dishing out 8.5 assists per game, Paul continues to make clutch shots and provide leadership for the young Suns.

Suns Shoot Their Way to Win

The Chicago Bulls will begin to find more team chemistry in the next couple of weeks, but it just hasn’t happened at this time. Chicago still has some significant issues on the defensive end of the floor, which will be a major problem against the Suns.

The Suns can put up points in a hurry, and this team is playing with a ton of momentum at this time. Phoenix simply has too many weapons for the Bulls to contend with, and they will win their fourth straight game.

Phoenix might show a little fatigue in this game early, but it won’t matter in the end. The Phoenix Suns pull away for a double-digit win, and they cover the seven-point spread.

Betting Pick: Phoenix Suns (-7).

Player Prop

Devin Booker (-150) Over 1.5 Three-pointers

The Suns will look for the second win in as many days tonight against the Chicago Bulls who have lost four straight. Phoenix is on a three game winning streak and sits atop the Pacific Division. The Suns won their last matchup against the Bulls, 106-97 on Feb. 26th.

Over his 10 career games against the Bulls, Devin Booker has averaged  22 points per game, including 2.2 threes on nearly 40% shooting. And twice against Chicago Booker has dropped five threes.

Tonight I expect Booker to be the leading offensive force for the Suns. He should play up to his normal level and could potentially have an even bigger night if he gets hot. I look for the Suns to win and Booker to eclipse the 1.5 threes mark that is set for him.
