Boston Celtics at Dallas Mavericks Betting Pick

NBA Previews

The Dallas Mavericks will host the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night in NBA action, and this is a battle of disappointing teams at this point in the season. Both Dallas and Boston were expected to be title contenders this season, but each team is right around the .500 mark.

Boston comes into this game with a record of 15-15, and the Celtics have simply not been able to play consistent basketball this season. The Celtics have gone just 2-4 in their last six games, and they are running out of time to turn things around.

Dallas has actually won five of their last six games, but they are still under the .500 mark on the season. The Mavericks come into this game with a record of 14-15, but they are still just three games out of first place in the Southwest.

The Boston Celtics are slim one-point road favorites over the Dallas Mavericks in this game.

Celtics Looking For Offense

The Boston Celtics are averaging just 110.8 points per game this season, despite having plenty of talented offensive weapons. Boston has had to deal with a number of injuries this season, but they have struggled to score when fully healthy.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both averaging more than 25 points per game, but the Celtics don’t have much scoring outside of their two stars. Kemba Walker has not yet delivered for this team, but he has started to show signs of life.

Boston has remained a strong defensive team, allowing just 106.8 points per game this season. The Celtics will face an explosive offense on Tuesday night and must find a way to slow things down.

Dallas Needs to Defend

If the Dallas Mavericks are going to continue to get back in the playoff race, then they must become a better defensive team. The Mavericks are giving up 113.8 points per game this season, and that could be a problem against the Celtics.

Dallas is averaging 112.5 points per game, and they are a team that wants to pick up the pace and play fast. The Mavericks are led by Luka Doncic, who could be a potential NBA MVP in the coming years.

Doncic leads the team with 28.8 points and 9.2 assists per game, and he sets the tone for the offense. Kristaps Porzingis has chipped in with more than 20 points per game, and he helps to stretch the floor on offense.

Mavericks Upset Celtics

Both of these teams have been hard to handicap all season long as each team has been so inconsistent. Dallas can really score, but the Celtics are one of the better defensive teams in the league.

This game should be tight throughout the game, but the Mavs have the best player on the floor in Luka Doncic. The point guard has been playing his best basketball of late, and that should allow the Mavericks to steal a game over the Celtics.

Take the Dallas Mavericks money line over the Boston Celtics in this NBA showdown.
