Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Betting Preview
The Milwaukee Bucks host the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night for an Eastern Conference showdown in the NBA. This game could be a potential playoff preview, but there is still a long way to go before that happens.
Atlanta comes into this game with a record of 8-7, and it is currently leading the Southeast Division. The Hawks have won three straight games, but this will be their toughest test of the road trip.
Milwaukee is just 9-6 so far this season, and things have not gone well for the Bucks of late. The team has now lost two straight games, and they are currently in a tie for first place in the Central Division.
The Milwaukee Bucks are 8.5-point favorites over the Hawks on Sunday.
Hawks Hounding Opponents With Defense
The Hawks have been a solid defensive team this season, which has allowed them to take control of the Southeast Division. Atlanta is allowing just over 108 points per game, and it puts plenty of pressure on opposing teams.
Trae Young continues to lead the Hawks on the offensive end of the floor, and he has been on fire of late. Young leads the team with 25.3 points and 8.7 assists per game, and the Hawks have the ability to be a great offensive team.
Center Clint Capela had 13 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 blocks in the Hawks' last game, and he has played a huge role in the team turning things around. There are still some holes on this roster, but Atlanta can give teams some trouble.
Offense Powering Milwaukee
The Bucks are once again one of the best offensive teams in the NBA, averaging more than 119 points per game. Milwaukee wants to push the tempo on offense, and it isn't afraid to take quick three-point shots.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.0 points per game while also shooting close to 54 percent from the floor. Teams continue to look for new ways to slow him down, but the "Greek Freak" is nearly impossible to defend at the rim.
Milwaukee will give up some points on defense, and slowing down Young will be a huge key to this game. The Bucks hope that they can turn things around again while playing at home on Sunday.
Bucks Roll to Victory
Even though the Hawks have been a great defensive team this season, taking on the Bucks is a whole different challenge. Atlanta does not have anyone that can match up with Antetokounmpo, and that will spell disaster for the Hawks.
Milwaukee typically plays much better on its home floor, and three-point shooting numbers are much higher. The Bucks are going to take control of this game early, and the Hawks simply won't have enough offense to keep up.
Atlanta is off to a solid start this season, but this game will show just how far it still has to go. Bet the Milwaukee Bucks -8.5 over the Atlanta Hawks in this Eastern Conference showdown.
