Final 2007: Giants End NE Perfect Season
Coming into the Super Bowl an underdog despite three straight postseason wins on
the road, the Giants ended the perfect season of New England (17-14) on a
13-yard TD pass from Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress with 35 seconds left.
Ironically, it was a close loss to the Patriots (38-35) in the last game of the
regular season that gave New York the momentum heading into the playoffs.
The Giants converted that into wins at Tampa Bay, Dallas and Green Bay en route
to winning its sixth NFL title. Even with the loss, the Patriots'
18-1 record allowed them to maintain the highest rating in the final Index of
the season with the
Giants finishing second. Here
are the complete NFL rankings* for the 2007 season.
