Steelers Capture Super Bowl XL
Pittsburgh proved it was worthy of its No. 1 ranking in Dunkel as the Steelers
captured Super Bowl XL with a 21-10 win over Seattle. The game wasn't
pretty and there were a few controversial calls, but the Steelers hit on two big
plays -- Willie Parker's 75-yard TD run and Antwaan Randle El's 43-yard TD pass
to MVP Hines Ward -- and held the Seahawk offense in check. The win capped
a strong finish for the Steelers, who were just 7-5 at one point in the season
before finishing with four straight regular season wins and a sweep in the
playoffs (all on the road). Here are the
final rankings for the 2005 season.
