NCAA Football Division 1-AA Rankings

Final 2008: Spiders Claim First Title

Seven game into the season, Richmond had three losses and seemed a long shot to make the playoffs.  But the Spiders went undefeated the rest of the way in the regular season and capped their run with a 24-7 victory over Montana in the I-AA championship.  Along the way, the Spiders knocked off defending champion Appalachian State in the quarterfinals and overcame a 13-point deficit to beat Northern Iowa in the semifinals to finish No. 1 in the final 2008 Index.   Here are the complete rankings for the 2008 season.
